St. Philip's College, San Antonio at Fall Leadership
Conference
I joined Delta Epsilon Chi in the spring of 1989 at St Philips
College in San Antonio. The professionalism and encouragement from
the local and state organization helped me develop my abilities to
succeed in the areas of hotel, food and beverage operations. I
participated in the Texas DEX State Career Development Conference
and placed FIRST in the Hotel Management and Marketing event. During
the years our club had the privilege to attend Leadership
Development Conferences and Career Conferences. After winning my
third consecutive Texas competition, I was off to Denver for
National CDC. I worked hard and with the help of other members and
our advisor, I placed sixth in the nation in the Hotel Management
and Marketing event. Стоимость регистрация доменов kz дешево быстро и качественно
In my career, I was offered a position by one of the National DEX
sponsors, Mrs. Fields Cookies. Later, I became a manager for Souper
Salad, Inc. With them, I quickly became the National Training
Coordinator in charge of new store openings and was responsible for
the training of all staff members in over 44 stores across the
nation. I advanced into positions of Special Project Manager,
Certified Computer Training Specialist, Product Research and
Development Specialist, and Corporate Chef. I am most proud of
preparing the winning entry for Peoples Choice Award at the "2001
Taste of San Antonio Competition". I found a sample essay, possibly better custom papers,- thanks.
Since leaving Souper Salad in 2002, I have combined two passions
of mine, motorcycle riding and food and beverage operations. With a
few friends, I now own and operate the IRON AMARADILLO SALOON, the
premier biker bar in San Antonio. All of this would not have been
possible without the strength, professionalism, encouragement and
knowledge gained from my involvement with DEX.

I joined Delta Epsilon Chi in 1997 at Temple College. I
participated in several state Leadership Conferences and
Competitions. In my final semester at Temple College I wanted to
apply to the University of Texas School of Business in Austin. When
I inquired about admission to the school, I was told I was just
short of the minimum GPA to be accepted, I had a 3.65 instead of the
3.8 required.
During that last semester, I participated in the State Career
Development Conference and placed first in the Sales Promotion Plan
event. I then attended the International Conference where I placed
FIRST in the nation in the event.
Upon my return from the International Conference, I went ahead
and applied to the UT School of Business. They called and told me
that they were making an exception to the GPA minimum, and I would
be admitted due to my success at the DEX Conference. They said, "You
are JUST the kind of student we are looking for and want in our
program". I have now graduated from UT with a BBA, and continue to
serve as a volunteer judge and advisor for DEX. I am a co-owner of a
successful sporting goods business and shooting range in Temple. offshore uk

I joined DEX in the spring of 2001 while attending St. Phillips
College. I competed in three International Career Development
Conferences. In Anaheim, my group placed 4th in the
nation in the E-Commerce competition. The next year in Salt Lake
City, I competed in the Marketing Management Institute where my
group placed 2nd in the nation. The time in DEX was a
great experience for me. It gave me a chance to compete on a mental
level by using my mind and not my muscles. I was also chapter
president and vice-president for the state of Texas. What got me
involved in DEX ? One day my instructor, Candy Berkley asked me to
stop by her office after class and she told me all about the club
and its benefits.
I work for the Drury Hotels Corp., which is a family owned
corporation. I have been with this family for 5 ½ years. I currently
hold a Front Desk Supervisor position for two hotels in San Antonio,
the Drury Inn and Hampton Inn Northeast. I supervise nine staff
members. I have received the San Antonio Hotel Associations "Rising
Star" award, have received several scholarship awards from them and
have twice been the speaker at their education luncheon.
Being in DEX has helped me challenge myself to be the best
employee and individual that I can. Also it has given me the
strength to motivate myself and pursue my goals in the industry. My
goal is to be a General Manager of a hotel. That is why I thank DEX
and my advisor and close friend Candy Berkley for providing me these
opportunities.

I was fortunate to join Delta Epsilon Chi in 1998 while attending
Houston Community College Central. This organization exceeded my
expectations! Meeting the challenges at the competitions gave me
such a blast of self-confidence and also laid a foundation for
success in my education and career. The first year, I participated
in the Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan and MDM-Organizing
competitions. I placed second in these two events.
The members of Texas Delta Epsilon Chi were so helpful and we
quickly bonded with members from other colleges across the state and
nation, always looking forward to competitions each year as well as
networking.
In 1999 I competed in Merchandising-Management Decision Making
and MDM-Organizing placing second in these two events and went on to
national competition where I was a finalist. It was incredible! The
excitement and synergy of all the colleges in one huge auditorium
was unbelievable! Having your name called amongst all these schools
would make anyone feel proud to just walk across the stage, and
indeed I was!
I kept competing each year; it was in my blood! In 2001 I was
voted to serve as the Texas State President which was a high honor
for me to wave the Texas Flag across the stage in Anaheim,
California! I also placed 3rd in the nation that year in an
E-commerce Management Institute competition.
I am presently working for the Dean of Social Sciences at Rice
University in Houston, Texas where I am utilizing my knowledge and
experience in organizing and management decision making from the
competitions.
I recommend Delta Epsilon Chi to every student that would like a
challenge and knows the value of networking and wants to succeed in
their career in marketing and merchandising.
